Arizona/NASA Space Grant Symposium
Two of our undergraduates and current Space Grant Interns, Alexus Cazares and Diego Huerta, attended the statewide Arizona/NASA Space Grant Symposium in Tempe, Arizona this weekend. This annual symposium includes students and faculty from The University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and various community college affiliates. The two-day event began with a banquet, where the graduating seniors were recognized and awarded with a stole, and was followed by an entire day of presentations by Space Grant Interns. Each intern had the opportunity to present the research that he or she has been working on during the academic year. Alexus gave a talk about the effects of urbanization on Gila Monster relative abundance at Stone Canyon and Diego talked about the work that he has been doing with the USA National Phenology Network. Both gave excellent talks and enjoyed watching their peers present on a variety of topics, ranging from science journalism to aerospace engineering.
